Even if only slightly, is a BS degree considered higher or at all more prestigious than a BA?

And don't worry about sugarcoating a BA; I'm getting a BS degree.

A BS is easier. You barely have to be able to read and write.

I am graduating in May with my Bachelor of Arts in Biology, the University I go to also offers a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

The differences are these:

B.A. Biology
32 credits in Biology:
2 labs, 1 writing intensive
8 credits in Chemistry:
General Chemistry I and II
18-24 credits of a non science-math minor

B.S. Science
36 credits in Biology:
1 course required in Molecular-Cell Biology
1 course required in Developmental-Function Biology
1 course required in Ecology-Behavior-Diversity Biology
3 labs, 1 writing intensive
16 credits in Chemistry:
General Chemistry I and II
Organic Chemistry I and II required
8 credit in Physics
6 credits in Math:
Calculus required
this degree has an inclusive minor

The University I attend gears the B.S. degree mainly for Pre-Med students. I will be starting my grad work this summer for my Masters in 2ndry Education - I am going to be a high school Biology teacher. It really depends on the school, as other colleges within my state's college/university system offer either the B.A. OR the B.S., and what you intend on using your degree for.

I particularly have a BS and would not evaluate it any bigger or greater prestigious than a BA. it particularly is purely that the concentration of learn are diverse fields. BA could be literature, background, the humanities, and so on. on an identical time as the BS is in social sciences, engineering, technology. I particularly have my degree in sociology/background minor. i became a probation officer for some years, income became ok yet no longer significant by using any skill. i've got confidence that sociology/social artwork fields do no longer make the money that the engineering fields do, even though it particularly is all a rely of pursuits and determination. particularly, you need to hold the utmost of stages and in case you don't be conscious your self the degree is valueless. So what you do with the degree is what makes it prestigious.

I don't think it makes too much of a difference. The only thing is it might make you appear more well rounded if you have a BS in a humanities field.

I dont know what the difference is. I went to a liberal arts college, majored in chemistry and got a BA. Why would anyone sugarcoat it, I think that they are basically equivalent

See my response a few questions below.

Basically, they have the same prestige altho BS classes tend to be harder. Used for different things usually.
