I would really like to get into voice acting. Does anyone know how I can get started? I live in the Chicagoland area

Put together a demo CD. Include your strengths--straight narration, commercial (straight and humorous), any voices that you do. No more than about 30" of each. The CD shouldn't be longer than 5 minutes.
Send it to V/O agents and recording studios.

work on reading two stories or scrips if you can get them work out just how you wish your character to sound then do another character and another until you can do all of them in the story then make a high quality tape of your story with you being all of the characters. Make sure it is a pro sounding tape them being to look for whoever is casting in that area check out radio stations as they have pro voices that work on ads. when you make the connect give them your tape and hope that they like the quality of it then be prepared to work you butt off getting just the sound they want for your tryout. good luck that is a cool profession but a tough one to get into.
