I mean the iPhone looks amazing but I'm not getting Cingular just for the iPhone.

Initially, Verizon will not carry it. There are many flaws with this product, several of it's kind have been tried before.

1) it's very pricey $599 too much for an unproved product as suck
2) it has no key pad. it remains doubtful that phone users will like that.
3) the battery is internal and can't be replaced without shipping back to manuf. that is a major concern.
4) The key pad of the ipod, iphone will more than likely cause more confusion than positive results. Besides if you take a good look at how quickly technology changes, it's unlikely this product will make a significant splash in the market place. another poor problem with the product is that it must be sync through a wire on your PC. -vs- over the air downloads.

I would pick something else.

for one it is gonna b a cingular inclusive.. and 2.. they are making the iphone a gsm phone.. and verizons technology is cdma.. even after a year.. verizon will not have this product.. apple had made a deal with cingular a year or maybe longer baq... and.. they are in a contract til 2009 with cingular.. even if you look at that new phone from lg.. called prada.. it looks like a iphone.. and it is also going to b with cingular(that may change before launch date.. but it will most likely b for cingular..) you can see it at phonescoop.com

anyway.. the iphone isnt going to b that great.. for one.. no keypad.. a internal battery.. touch screen... i think way to much technology for a cell phone.. and costs WAY to much... it said in some newspaper that apple is making like 40-50 percent profit off of it..

Right now it will be a Cingular exclusive, but, nobody has it yet because it is not yet approved. From the iPhone website "This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained."
