First I am a senior in a high school in California and have applied to UCs.
Last semester, I received D in AP biology with less than 0.1% away from C. Although I asked the teacher for extra credits or so she is strict that unless, she would not change the grade.
Right now, I am writing letters to UC campuses' office of admission to notify this failed course. (First time ever in school life I received D)
My question is how will this affect my addmission into UC?

Also I have taken Biology, Chemistry Honors and Physics Honors. This year I am taking Physics AP with this Biology AP class. So the UC requirement for science category has been fulfilled.

Before you write those letters, confirm with your school if that's considered failing. Many schools consider a D or D+ to still be passing. You may not have to write a letter unless you want to properly explain it away.

It's pretty rare to have an acceptance pulled. If your other grades were fine and you're doing ok now, you can explain it was a blip and even ask your teacher to write a letter certifying it was less than .1% away from a C.

You need to call them, if you explain to them the class it was and the situation and stuff like that...then they will give you an answer. However, in general they usually do not want any Ds or Fs on a transcript. Oh and by the way you should go to UC Davis (: its amazing!! I hope they will accept you!!

depends which UC. May shut the door on LA and Berkeley, may not be such an issue with Riverside.

Why not just drop the class... or spend more time on studying and less on hassling the universities.
