I'm buying a house an it's in attorney review. Attorney review is stalled because the seller will not go to a different county at closing. Can I call the seller directly (avoiding the attorneys and agents) and offer to take her myself? what are the repercussions?

They will work it out, just relax, everyone figures out how to deal with these things in their own way.

Believe me the Agents and attorneys know how to get people to do what they need to do.

don't call the seller directly. What we imagine when we talk directly with the principle is that they are nice and reasonable. And often what we discover is that they are wildly disagreeable, and that's why you have an Agent.

It will all work out in time and while this all takes on enormous proportions when you are about to buy a home, let it go and know that alls well that ends. this too will end.

You really shouldn't try to contact the seller directly. I have no idea where you are buying, but in the state of Florida part the of Sale and Purchase contract states that it must close in the county the property is in. If you needed it to close in another county it should have been writen as a new clause to the contract when the offer was made, which replaces the clause that states :to close in the county the property is in. This is what a GOOD Realtor would have done for you. I am sorry your learning this now, nonetheless I hope this gets resolved for you. Good luck!

That seems confusing - I've done closings where the seller was in a diferent COUNTRY, let alone COUNTY. See if the attorneys can all band together and find something called OVERNIGHT MAIL DELIVERY.

This guy above me has the right idea. Everything can be done through a fax. Let the buyer go to a title company where they live and you do the same. This sounds rather silly to me, maybe the buyer just is getting cold feet. Do it through the Title companies, it will close and everyone will be happy.
