Without it looking too crazy? I bought a simple white dress and was thinking of taking it to a seamstress to add legnth to it (I'm really tall) and possibly add a train. Has anyone done this kind of atleration before and had it turn out okay? Does it even exist?

I "altered" a denim jumper by putting lace on the bottom to add a little length....

you can alter anything -- w/a white dress i would look for a nice piece of lace fabric to add along the bottom -- this will add the length you are looking for and a little flair to a plain dress. It can work for a train as well. And yes, I have altered clothes before and they always turn out better than I expected.
