I have been living in United states in Chicago for 7 years and I have never had any problem even minor one..but Unfortunately in 2005 I got cut in one of the department stores and accused of stealing!!! But I SWEAR I wasn't stealing and my purpose was changing stuff which I didn't have the recede for them..Any way I was charged and and got supervision because the amount was $169..Any way last year I applied for citizenship and my interview was yesterday..I passes the citizenship test with 100 and I speak English really good and I obtained my associate degree last year and currently I am a dentistry student in UIC..But the officer said that the arrest record will cause my application to be denied!! he said because the amount of the merchandises that you took is over $150 so you need to wait 5 more years and apply again..He was sad for me too because he said that I am a good person and I went through this problem,,He said he will talk to his supervisor and give his recommendation for me but he was still not sure if the supervisor will except or no!!! Please tell me here do you think I have any chance to get excepted??? I am really sad and disappointed and don't know what to do..Please any help or advice..Thanks a lot

You could petition the court to have the record expunged but I do not know how successful the attempt would be. Ask a layer for their advice.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aND11

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

The problem with our country is that we tend to have the old addage too many bad apples spoil the barrel taking over our society! In your case an attorney with good contacts could probably help but in this case you are dealing with people with no authority doing a job that changes peoples lives. I would think that the fact you have no incedents since 2005 and your school grades should be your defense. Remember you can appeal the decision of this supervisor, we are a nation based upon the ability to go up the ladder and with the proper defense have a situation reversed. This is the freedom we fight and struggle for, relax you are a welcome part of our country and you are being a productive piece of our society, if you are living right and making good grades you will win in the end!

you didn't get a felony I assume? I would think that as long as you got through your supervision with no problems you should be OK. If you do have to wait another 5 years you should be able to get your record sealed. get an attorney and get it taken care of. but honestly any government entity can get your files, so it's not something you can hide in a closet or sweep under the rug, it'[s always there. so if you have to wait another 5 years and you want to live in this country bad enough, then the obstacle is only temporary and there is something to learn here. just always go forward with the knowledge you get out of life. good luck!!!!!

in prison i heard the expression "Justis is for the rich, the rest is just us" truth is, unless your rich or know someone, you probably will not get a break. you probably are a nice person, and i hope you do get approved. if you don't, don't worry, what's 5 years. just live. work hard & play harder. enjoy

Contact the federal congressional man/woman for your area, explain to him/her exactly what happened. if you can show them that you are a good person and trying to make a good productive life for yourself he may be able to help you.

Sometimes congressman can get special things done to help in these matters...

Good Luck.....
