Paul Revere was heading west from Lexington to Concord when he was caught.

His famous "Midnight Ride" occurred on the night of April 18/April 19, 1775, when he and William Dawes were paid by Dr. Joseph Warren to ride inland from Charlestown to warn the militias at Lexington and Concord of the approach of British army troops from Boston.
That would make it West, Northwest to be exact.

Must have been riding the wrong way. He should have been going in the opposite direction.
