its like trying to avoid death. and everytime i try not to tell you the things you should know - the pain comes back...

For someone who is trying to be straightforward, you are being very cryptic. To be straight is to say exactly what you mean. All I got was that you were hurt somehow. I am a smart lady and I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe that's why your girl is an X.

It's very romantic (I think letters are the best form of correspondance between lovers) but perhaps it would be best to stick with ripping off Byron or Oscar Wilde, because I don't really understand what you're trying to say here.
