Yes, RL polos are preppy. Make sure you pop your collar!
Preppy dudes don't wear baggy jeans...you need some fitted jeans like from Abercrombie and Fitch, Lacoste, any high class brand. Pumas are preppy, DC's and New Balances are not really preppy cause DC's are skater shoes, and New Balances are just "typical" shoes.
Get some Armani Exchange T-shirts, Abercrombie and Fitch, Lacoste, RL, anything high class. A nice belt, and some cologne would be nice to you.
Good luck!!

No, just because someone decides to wear a polo, it does not mean that you're 'preppy'. It doesn't mean that your personality changes, so don't worry about.
In fact, today, a girl wore two polo's layered on top of each other with the colars popped. Some might consider that 'preppy', but she added these vintage yellow earings, black and white bow clips in her hair, and some plaid (with bleach stains) sneakers.
The point is, she didn't look preppy, or scene, or whatever else there is. She just looked original and good.

Polos are preppy. So are Lacoste. Don't wear your pants too baggy. Khakis are always good. Sperry Topsider shoes. NorthFace brand jackets/coats are really "in" right now. Wear a belt! Basically keeping neat and taking pride in your appearance make some people think you are a prep!

I'm just the person your looking for for this question-hi-I'm Mary and I've worked in clothing styles for the past five years and once designed a preppy fashion line for a recognized fashion media. If you want to look "preppy" the best thing to do is to wear a polo under a v neck sweater- pop the Collar and wear pants at waist--ta da that should just about do it---for the ultimite prepped look wear checkered pants--strange? not in the fashion world!!!

if you wanna be preppy you cant shop at places like hot topic or not even vans cause vans is more of a skateboard shop . I'm not dissin that stores but theyre not especially preppy. if you wanna be really preppy, you might wanna shop at place like hollister or abercrombie and finch .youre polos are probably considered preppy but it depends on how and with what you where them. but remember dont try to hard to look preppy or youll probably end up missin preppy and goin into nerdy

Ralph Lauren is very preppy.
Technically, real preps don't wear Abercrombie, Hollister, or AE. They go with Lacoste, J Crew, etc.
Traditionally, real preps go to a prep school, usually on the east coast, play rugby/field hockey/lacross/fencing/rowing, and other crew sports.

Why do you want to dress preppy? Why don't you just wear what you feel like wearing, and not wear what everyone else is wearing or follow trends? Dressing differently shows more individuality anyway.
Oh, by the way, trends and "preppiness" differs from state to state. Where do you live?

Yea, I always saw preppy as tight fitting clothes, those ridiculously "popped" and high collars, pretty tight jeans, those pumas, spiky hair like the Gotti boys. Basically those Abercrombie & Fitch models.

HMM I LOVE THE COLLARED BUTTONDOWN (NAVY BLUE OR TAN) WITH THE PULL OVER SWEATER VEST(TAN OR NAVY BLUE) A NICE TIE, SOME NOT TOO GAY KHAKI'S (RALPH LAUREN) PERHAPS A POLO BASEBALL CAP AND SOME TIMBERLANDS (CONSTRUCTIONS) I RECCOMEND TIMBS. BECAUSE OF YOU SAYING YOUR PANTS ARE A LITTLE BAGGY....TIMBS WILL HELP YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THE OUTFIT..PLUS I THINK IT'S SEXY LOL.....P.S. IT SOUNDS CRAZY BUT WHEN BUYING PANTS WRAP THE WAIST AROUND YOUR NECK IF THE ENDS MEET THEY ARE EXACTLY YOUR SIZE...SO I WOULD ONLY GO ONE SIZE UP SO THEY WOULDNT BE TOO BAGGIE
