I just did a repair install on windows and now I can't connect to the Internet via wirelless router or direct connection to the modem. It says in Internet connections that I'm connected, but when I oped IE 6 it says "could not open the search page" in a dialog box. I tryed insalling Opera, thinking it was a problem that was later fixed in IE 6 since I didn't have updates, but that didn't work. I had sp2 installed before the re-install, but the instillation disk was sp1, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Try looking at Device Manager:

*Right click on My Computer,
*Properties,
*on the System Properties tab, click on Hardware,
*then click on Device Manager.

From there check your Modem or Network connections.

If all goes right you shouldn't see any yellow circles with black explanation points, at least you know that your modem or network are working correctly.

If you do see the yellow circle with the black explanation poitns, double click on them for information on how to correct the error in question.

If neither of whats listed is wrong, go to microsoft.com, knowledgebase and type in what the problem is and you should find a solution from it.
