Im getting one for my b-day and my mom said can't text ppl untill I find out how much it costs! Thanks ahead of time!

You really got to go to www.peekamo.com and register for their free service. At peekamo, you can send free TXT messages to anyone in the USA and Canada from your desktop. You don't need to know their carrier or anything. Best part is that it is free, for you and the person receiving the TXT msg. Peekamo uses SMPP not SMTP. You don't have to worry about spam either.
