Was a single mom with two kids however...they are grown...
Don't worry sweetie.....you can do it and you will be damn proud of yourself. Keep the kids involved in outside schools activities. Go thru the Park District. they are either free or fees are low.
Keep them busy....and keep them out of jail.
If you need help with food and/or housing check with the Illinois Department of Human Services. Call 311. They can give you the number.

I am. I have three kids 11,6,and 5 their dad's in jail, I go to school full time, and work full time it's the hardest thing I have ever done. Hopefully it gets better.

Yeah, my mother is one. She had three daughters and two of them got married and went their ways and all that is left is me!!!
