They say it's Greenland, but if Greenland is an island and Australia is a continent, why is Greenland not a continent? Why is Australia not considered merely an island? Where do they draw the line?

Don't you northern hemisphere people ever look south? Mainland Australia is a larger island than Greenland. Continental Australasia includes lots of other islands including one of Australia's States, Tasmania, but the mainland is an island - as much as Greenland is anyway.
