Gneiss is a rock!!!! NOT MINERAL .....

It is a Foliated , banded or striped metamorphic rock composed of with alternating layers of dark and light minerals like light (feldspar, quartz) and dark (biotite, hornblende) . Product of high pressure and temperature.
