I was considering, looking for a new job but I had been rejected because of my bad credit. Should I keep my current job until I get this bill paid off? I have about a year.left. Is a wage garnishment a bad sign for a new employee joing a new company?

No. Stay where you are and get the debt paid off. Your next employer will end up having to garnish your check as well and you will be in the same boat.

they will just track you down and begin where it left off, when you fill out the w-4 for the job as required by law for taxes. states are also require employers to report all new job hires. stick it out and pay the bill.
