there expected to move out of there parents house and live on there own....i mean who really is ready to live on there own by 18, isnt nowadays most people in there early 20's still live at home?

Leave that mentality for the movies. It would be foolish to live out on your own without a real career. Plus you'll never be able to save for the future if you play it that way. It's a situation where many young adults learn the hard way.

If you can... Stay at home for as long as your parents will allow! Cuz going out into the cold cruel world isn't easy.

Generally this is not typical of many young people and most parents would not force there child out when they turn this age
most of the time when a child graduates may move out to go to college/university and that may be at the age of 18 but most live at home and commute to school to save money i lived at home until I was 24 and my mom was actually sad to see me leave but I got engaged and moved in with my fiance its different for many families but the whole 18 your out way of thinking i believe has just been thrown at people by way of Hollywood.

These days, people grow up a lot faster than they used to. When teens turn 18, theyre so exited about the freedom that they dont care if theyre not ready. I dont even think that crosses their mind. But i think there are some very mature 18 year olds that ARE ready, so its hard to tell.
