why are suicide rates for white teenage males much higher than suicide rates for females or non-white males?

I was looking at the statistics for teenage suicide and white teenage male suicide rates have done nothing but go up since the 70's, and non-white males have a much lower right, and white and non-white females have a very low suicide rate. So why do white teenaged males have a higher suicide rate than non-white males and females?

probably because they aren't a minority...they are always hassled for oppressing other races and women...I wouldn't want that as a stereotype.

Well its a tough question to answer but we should note that males commit suicide at a much higher rate then females in North America....but from a different perspective its also interesting to note that when you get all the sex you need from a number of partners (speaking as a man) you start to get that "whats the big deal" feeling, and you can relax and allow other elements of the relationship take on a higher level of importance.

Greater exposure to social and other pressures. This may sound callous but those stats have to be corroborated. Too, where in particular is the most salient population point. It would probably explain a lot. A death certificate can be finalized in such a way as to render the information/circumstances questionable. I think we can all agree on that given past periodical, news, and general public information sources. Definitely, it is a concern and a fact.

i'm not sure about race, but i've heard that, in general, men tend to use methods to commit suicide that are more effective than women. (such as blowing out their brains rather than taking a bunch of pills)
