Yep, I dated a sweet, handsome and seductive guy who was around 5 foot 4 (I'm 5 foot). However, he dumped me for a woman who was 5 foot 8 - apparently I was too short for him!!

As you can see many of these answers are in the affirmative to your question. This is why self reports are so invalidated by the evidence. Women have been saying that they would date and marry short men since self report data has been collected. The reality is much, much different. Ethnographic data and insurance applications, to just name two sources, show a different picture. A woman married, and I assume you may want to consider marriage, is with a shorter man than herself in less that 2% of the data sets. Hope to be in that two percent and do not believe self reports.

the married woman that jonmcn49 was talking about are most likely from that older off generation where all these weird limitations and standards were in place. OF COURSE men can be attractive if they're short dude. (tellin ya from experience) the reason that some women unfortunatly look for taller guys is that whole ideal couple or w/e: thats the whole insecurity thing that goes for the same reasons some men won't date taller women.

Absolutely!
Height is a factor that SOME women consider when looking for a man, but it has never been critical for me. In fact, a guy who's too tall is a bit of a turn-off...I once dated a guy who was 6'2", and since I'm only 5'3", we couldn't kiss standing up (well, not for a long time, at least)!

Yes, Im personally 5'2" and my ex was only an inch taller than me.
Look at Tom Cruise - he's gotta be shorter than that and women all around the world would die for him!

I would have a hard time considering him as an adult. I am not attracted to short men.
