I have heard that the best treatment for scars is Vitamin E. You can by it over the counter in pills that have oil inside -- puncture the pill to get out the oil -- and treat the scar up to three times a day with the oil from that capsule.
I too have heard that cocoa butter works for scars such as stretch marks, but haven't heard that it is healing on any other types of scars. Sorry.

Mederma works the best
I know, I had to have a pin put in my hip and a port in my chest
Nothing completely removes a scar, but mederma smoothes a scar out and makes it look less rough

I would try Mederma or any product with collagen.
The best thing to do will be to get a doctor's advice for the best results.
