Two of my friends have had major tragedies this last few weeks. My friend Billy's wife died from he radio show water intoxication death and my best friends uncle, who she was very close to, was the pilot of the helicopter that was shot down in Iraq. They both have been all over the news and there are blogs and opinions everywhere. I feel like the world is out of control right now and people close to me are being hurt. Does anyone have any suggestions for focusing this negative energy into something positive? Maybe something really creative and that would honor the people that have been lost.

I honor your desire to bring something good out of tragedy.
Right now, concentrate on personal grieving, yours and your friends'. The positive aspects that you must address now are honoring those who died and helping the bereaved to work through the first month.
After the first month or two, you all will start to move on. I do not mean that anybody will be back to normal. But you will be able to start thinking about the future and how you can focus your energy in a positive way. There are all kinds of possibilities.
