There was a new type of helmet that was introduced a few years ago (called the Revolution). It's like regular helmets, but there are some holes on top of the helmet. I'm curious if Brett ever wore this helmet, even if it was for one game? Below is a link to a pic of the revolution helmet:

No, with the Revolution style helmets, it's about comfort and not about stability. For how much QBs get pushed around, you don't see many wearing them. The Revolutions are popular with linemen and some receivers. To my knowledge the only quarterback that wears it is Peyton Manning.

What separates the Revolution from the rest of football helmets is there there is no padding below the ear so it just slips right off and without any hassle, but it can be knocked off by a hard enough hit, unlike the traditional helmets.

Nope... Brett is old school, he would not be caught dead in that thing... I was thinking about him in one of those the other day... makes me laugh

manning wears it but i think mostly running backs and linemen wear it because its designed to prevent concussions
