I take it 60 minutes once a week, I'm in the adult/teen begginers class.

I dont know the answer to your question because I am trying to find out the answer myself. But one thing i want to know is where do you take your class at?

That is the exact class I'm in at LAC where is yours? I really don't think you'll loose any weight till you get to a higher level when you practice like three times a week and are required to practice at home, then you might or you might just gain mucle which might if you are really small and pettite add weight, but if you are more surdy and maybe to put this nicly heavy set or even avegage you might, today I had class and I was sweating because we were doing leg exercises and I bet I didn't loose an ounce except for the sweat.

It depends on how you're eating in combination with it, although one class a week won't really have a drastic effect. Most doctors recommend that a person participate in a physical activity for half an hour 3-4 times a week at least. I would suggest adding another fitness class (pilates is very useful for ballet in particular) to your weekly fitness regimen.

You probably won't lose any weight just from taking a beginner ballet class once a week. Since ballet is fairly non-cardio dance, it's highly unlikely that you're doing enough in class to burn off enough calories to lose any weight at all.

I've been dancing since I was about four, so I've been dancing for around 10 years. If it weren't for dancing, I don't think I'd be very thin. I'm 14, weigh 100 lbs. and am 5'5". Other than that, I don't really know. I dance about 16 hours a week, though.

I don't think you actually lose weight. You just burn fat and gain muscle.
