I was hoping there was a way to receive it to my email or any other means besides actually having a fax machine, my apartment can't get faxes (its complicated).

Yes. If you have a fax modem in your computer you can receive a fax. You'll need the software necessary to send/receive faxes. You may already have it. Here's an article explaining how to do it using Windows XP.

So, if you have a land line, a fax modem, and XP, you just need to configure the fax console to send/receive faxes.
