You like eachother? Say: "Hey, your coming to my neighborhood at blabla time and blabla day right?" Works for me EVERY time!!

Don't use an excuse. Just ask what you did here. You're right on track. You may want to invite a few others to make it seem more informal - just say to your crush that "a few of you are meeting up, are you interested?" Good luck!

Don't really beat around the bush. Just ask flat out: "wanna hang out sometime?" If that person likes you then he/she will be more than glad to come. He/she will also be relieved when he/she doesn't have to think of something to do.
