YES. School should be open year round. The holidays and vacation for staff should be similar to other professionals in the community.
NO. Students should not attend class year round. Academic development is only one part of becoming a well rounded person. New scheduling possibilities and opportunities for students with difficulties (financial, social, developmental or other) could more readily be addressed with more creative scheduling and teaching staff available year round.

No!!! Us kids need a break from school once in a while, and so do the teachers!!!! The only way we could have school year round is to have at least one week of vacation a month, to make it sort of even.

yes they should because if you have a 3 month summer vacation break then over that period of time you would forget alot of things you were taught. If you have a ear round school you will remember what you learnedbecause of the short not long breaks taken.

I'm not a fan.
It can be nice since most of your friends are at school.
However, there are too many negatives.
Summer vacation is very important. For some kids, it gives them a break from school. For others, it gives them a nice long time to catch up. Or, they can use that time to get ahead. Get a job, do extra curricular activities that you wouldn't otherwise have time for, etc.
For families, it gives them leeway in scheduling vacations. For many parents, it can be hard to get time off when every other parent is asking for that same week off. If you only get 1 week off, it limits the types of vacations you can go to.

No - childhood should still be childhood and kids should have time for play. Play is possibly the best learning experience of all for children.
Good Luck!!!
