I've seen plants that are so shiny they look like plastic. Is there something I can do to make a cactus shiny?!

There are multiple leaf shine products you can pick up at any garden center. These products do not harm the plant. For a pump spray: Spray it on and wipe the leaves with a dry paper towel. For an aerosol spray: Simply spray the leaves until the desired level of shine is acheived.

There is a product called "Green Glo." After working with plants and flowers for 8+ years this is the product I perfer... though it is an aerosol spay.

I have never shined a cactus and do not know the effect a leaf shine product would have on it.

Test this on a small area of the plant before using it all over the plant, but I think its Mayonnaise.

Low-fat milk is often used by florists to clean and add shine to plant leaves.
