I am in Europe and unable to see American tv. So, I appeal to you all to let me know what happened.

Conservatives: be balanced in your praise for him. Does his new Iraq plan sound good? What about immigration?

Liberals: please tell me specifics about what you like and dislike. Did any of you get a better opinion of him? Do you agree that it would be a disaster if we don't finish the job in Iraq?

Excellent speech. His plan for Iraq is supported by all the generals and the troops and that's most important. Immigration will always be a problem until some kind of amnesty program is installed, which he agrees should be done. Overall, a great speech but most Democrats as ususal would rather turn their backs on Iraq and terrorism.

It was politics as usual. I am not a Bush fan, but last nights speach was a bit refreshing, considering the source. At least he sounds like he might be taking a realistic view of our current situation and listening to others in the government around him. Maybe he finally realized he does not know everything!
But in the end, talk is cheap and many promises are made by politicians, so I will reserve judgement until they have had time to act. Actions always speak louder and truer than any words can!

How about an Independent point of view? He doesn't have a "new" plan. As the Who once said, meet the new plan, same as the old plan. Immigration, come on down, our borders are open. It was an appeal to the democratic congress to give him more time to accomplish his agenda that has been failing for four years. That was it in a nutshell.

Its like McCain stated with seven hundred billion lets rebuild the finished infrastructure of the USA and then some . What will we want loans for if we've money from operating . And if we do bail them out on a thanks to provide loans who could have the money to pay the loans . Face it the everybody is broke We cant have the funds for extra loans

I am neither conservative nor liberal. What bothers me is that fact that things are enfolding just as naysayers to this enterprise said they would, and the president and vice-president have this victim mentality like, "How are we supposed to know civil war would break out?" Senator Hagel, Republican Senator from Nebraska, is really hot today (He is a no-nonsense Viet Nam War hero and he is tired of people hiding behind politics while so many die - and become maimed). Last night my Commander-in-Chief asked me to give him (it) one more chance, and this had a tone of sadness after early machismo : ""Bring It On" - "Dead or Alive" - "You're either with us or against us ......................."

Same song with different lyrics. His speech was uninspiring and lacked focus.
