Well, any cartoons created in the past 40 years aren't actually "his" cartoons - Walt Disney passed away in 1966. So, that's one way the cartoons are different than they were before. They no longer had any approval or suggestion from Walt himself. Also, obviously, as technology has progressed, animation has progressed. The Walt Disney Company is involved with Pixar, so many of their current movies are computer animated.
Walt Disney changed the world of animation by creating the first full-length animated feature, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." And it was the most successful motion picture of 1938. Also, he invented some special multi-plane camera, or something, for animations.

Well, if you look at something like Snow White, which was done in 1937 and by the ORIGINAL Walt Disney, then you see Snow White is small chested and small eyed. Same goes for Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty (which were done around the same time). But if you look at Ariel or Bell, you see their chests and eyes are much bigger because after Walt Disney died they got a new cartoonist. The outfits are very different also. The new Disney tried to make it look timeless, but it only does when you are younger. Also Mickey Mouse looks NOTHING like he did back in the 1920's. He was original for a cereal box designed by Walt Disney! Anyway, I hope this helps.

Before Walt Disney, cartoons were shorts that existed as a sort of movie "appetizer". Snow White was the first full-length animated movie. Thanks to Walt Disney and his vision, an entire genre of movies were created. Remember that Snow White was not expected to do well. Now there are entire companies based in animation. Most of these are G-Rated children's movies and have the highest rates of return for the business.

the cartoons he made and produced are some of the most original ideas of his time...the cartoons today on the disney channel are nothing compared 2 his originals. he has actually won academy awards 4 Snow White and some others. none of the cartoons today stack up 2 his original....Name one person born in 2000 or earlier that hasnt seen a Disney classic. come on, he has basically made classics that live longer than he has.

Though Disney used a lot of innovations in his animations, I think he changed animation the most in as far as the financial model of animation.
From toy tie ins to limited releases (at first theatrical and then later home video) he showed how to make money from the product which is the whole reason these films are made.
