Do you really think the bombers are going to stop? Israel has tried going down that road and the Palestinians were not interested in peace then nor do I believe will some of them ever be. As for Carter he needs to shut up and build his houses he's coming across as more and more and ideologue each time he opens his mouth.

Nothing wrong with saying it. I think most of my patients could figure that much out. But these terrorists smiled and said okay and went back to strapping on the bombs. So maybe Carter doesn't know what the heck he's talking about and should retire and build houses in his dotage if he wishes.

The problem is that most suicide bombers aren't influenced by anything but hatred and fanatical dogmatism. Singing and holding hands, etc. isn't gonna motivate these people to give up murdering their enemies.
Jimmy Carter is a lot of things, but I don't think a realist is one of them.

Suicide bombers believe God will reward them for blowing themselves up and taking as many people as they can with them. Reason obviously will not work on them.
