Im dumb with computers?

do i need this to get a wireless connection with my laptop if i have the wireless router, i just bought it but i dont know if i should open it

you need to have a wireless adapter installed on your computer to get it to work for w/ your wireless router.to know: right-click on My Computer icon then go to Properties,click on the Hardware tab then click on Device Manager & double-click on Network Adapters----it should display all the adapters installed.look for anything that says wireless/wlan/802.11g/b.

If you just bought a brand new laptop, it probably already has a built in wireless network adapter. You can check without opening up your computer by
1) right-clicking on My Computers
2) click on Properties
3) click on the Hardware tab
4) click on Device Manager
5) Double-click on Network Adapters

This should list all the wired and wireless adapter that is present on your system.

If you need to buy a wireless adapter, go with the linksys brand. Don't forget that you will need a wireless router to connect to. If you own one make sure you secure it with a password, if you don't own one you can connect for free at most hotspots, coffee chops, airports, etc.

go to ur control panel internet connections ... if u dont see a connection with wireless written all over it then u may need that ...
