It could be they feel inferior because of the fat. Therefore, they act like snobs to ge the jump on those they think will be stuck up towards them.

That is a stereotype not all fat people are snobby its in my opinion how they were raised that determines their attitude

I don't think that's true at all. If some overweight people don't speak to others, it may be because they are tired of being made fun of by those who look like they haven't eaten in months.
