I suppose the first thing that comes to my attention is why you have a big huge goldfish in with little ones. It's more than likely that your big huge one is a common, comet or shubunkin, so if your little ones are commons, comets or shubunkins, then I guess it could be okay. Maybe. But, if your little ones are fancies, then they can't be together because fancies move too slowly and they aren't going to get enough food. So, then my next question is, how big is your tank that has one huge goldfish and several smaller goldfish. With a load like this, even if you only have two little goldfish in addition to the big goldfish, you need a tank that's at least 40 gallons. And, for every little goldfish you have more than 2, you have to add an additional 10 gallons of water for each additional goldfish or you're going to start getting sick, unhappy little goldfish.

If you think about how you look from inside a fish bowl you might be scared too. All distorted and scary! I would suggest wearing a goldfish costume and decorating the room like the ocean, so the fish can relate to you.

Mybe the goldfish is very shy, you should start looking at the goldfish from far distances and then start getting a bit closer. Thats what I do with my fish.
Good Luck!

I'm sure it's nothing personal. Have you introduced yourself to the fish yet? I would be a bit put off if somebody kept on staring at me and I didn't even know their name. Maybe the fish was abused when it was younger. Or maybe he has heard about his cousins being suckered by the old hook trick, taken away and never seen again. Hmmm.....

How would you feel if you were locked in a little glass cage and this giant face kept staring at you?
Seriously though, it will get used to you, it just takes a little time for them to figure out you are not a threat.

Make a habit of "looking" at your fish before you feed it. The fish will come to associate your looking at it with being fed.

You're big and scary. NO offence. Seriously, I'm sure you look like a predator to her.
