Yes, and passbooks at banks and no ATM's, only 4 channels to choose from on tv, no video rental stores, candy bars went up from a nickle to 10¢, coke was in glass bottles, pop rocks were the new fad, the Atari and commodore 64 were cool, gas was 58¢ A GALLON, everyone had a home phone, people use to plan and make arrangements before cell phones, seat belt use was not a law, people were talk to each other in public (not just to other people elsewhere on their cells - HEY, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR CONVERSATION!), etc.

I can remember connecting to a BBS with a commodore 64. The modem was one that you had to lay the telephone handset on and manually dial the phone. It took about 15 minutes to download a page of text.
