You should be looking at the Tiboron from Hyundi. It is a great looking sports car and well within your budget., 95 onwards.

Civic Si or Rsx Acura if you can find one used in that price range. You can not go wrong with the reliability of those Japanese cars. Their looks still are good too. Do not buy anything in the 60s or 70's unless you are prepared to work on it and want to look for parts...Been there done that. I hate to say buy foreign, but they make a superior engine.

1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse it runnnsss like crazy. My boyfriend has raced many times and won.

1968 cougar 400 small block.. its in yer price range.. and well face it no one made a really good Hi-perf car after 1974... (some would say 1972.. and i really couldnt argue with them on that either)
