Of course, that is the whole point of terrorism, they want to scare us into abandoning our bases in the middle east, and stop us from aiding governments in the region. After that is accomplished they will attempt to overthrow the governments in place and replace them with Strict Radical Islamist states.
You must not forget that all terrorism has a political goal and political motivations, even if the people who are carrying out the terrorism do not see it that way. Terrorism isn't just a disease among the Radical sects of Islam, it has been around since the beginning of time.

I do not know what terrorist can break my will.
I saw on 9/11 a plane had crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center. Then I saw a second plane crashed into the other tower.
My thoughts turned to the time of day, full capacity of those towers, the probability of school tours and other generally known facts. Knowing what those towers represented, not only to us and to the rest of the world. The very first question to pop up into my head was...Who would stand to gain the most,by this? Accusations aside, the answer has not been proven, yet.
I am beginning to think that the intelligence was not thoroughly checked and rechecked for accuracy, even then.
Since then we have seen and discovered something about the accuracy of intellegence, as admitted by Bush. What we have seen since are bad judgement calls. What would make a War on Terrorism any different?

The aim and goal of a terrorist is to bring attention to a cause or agenda. A terrorist has no great grand plan or scheme other than to shock and bring notice upon a political, social, health or injustice that they perceive has been brought upon an affected group.
We started as terrorists, some were hung for these actions. Others hailed as heroes. We were revolutionary terrorists before we were free of the unjust taxation, unjust trials without council, unjust imprisonment without charges, and a King and Parliament where our voices went unnoticed and a vote was not for a common citizen
Things change, or do they.

It is indeed their tactic, because they do not have any other weapons that would come close to having an effect on a power the size of America. This, coupled with the fact that most Americans will not educate themselves if it means more work, means the terrorists may have a "proper" technique. There has been a marked effect, but I would not credit anti-war sentiment with terrorist efforts.

Most societies outside the United States can not or will not understand the freedoms we enjoy. You may bad mouth my input but guess what you have the right to do that. Your neighbor may burn the American flag. Good on him. Its his right. I am a 20-year veteran and I fully support that person who whats to burn the flag. Its ONLY a flag. Yes it represents the United States of America, but it also represents the freedom a person has in our country that he/she can do that. Most people, I believe, can not comprehend our way of life. Yes we do have a screwed up government, who doesn't. But I have the freedom and right that I can say we have a screwed up government.

Al Quaeda's goal is to unit Islam against infidels. Our bumbling president made the attack on the World Trade Centers more successful than Osama could have hoped for as far as America is involved.
Bush separated us from many of our strongest allies by attacking a Muslim country for dubious reasons. America's response has turned a lot more of the world than just Islam against us.
The main thing that we can do to cause more terrorist attacks against us is to make more people want to commit them.

The Democrats have already surrendered & are wanting to be friends with terrorists.
So, the terrorists have already defeated the will of half our people.
We can NOT win fighting against both the terrorists and the Democrats.

What is being overlooked is that they do not necessarily have a strategy. They are into stealing, killing, and destroying. Age old.

Yes. They cant fight us man to man. They cant surround us. They can only tire us. We are more than a pain in their side. We are their death. They are more desperate than ever. We have taken their homebase (Afghanistan) away. We have battles them in Iraq. Pakistan has helped us. This is good. I hope we can continue so the world will be a better place. I hope Iran wont get in the way.
