They should get rid of alignment requirements for classes like the Paladin and instead have a "holy Warrior" class with a note to the effect that Lawful Good Holy Warriors are called "Paladins", etc. They should also ditch making certain creatures "always" a certain alignment and just give them strong tendencies towards this or that alignment (i.e. undead should not always be evil!)

Don't hold your breath. No plans have been announced, despite constant rumors to the contrary (which first started two years ago, so you can see just how credible they are). Various design people have stated off the record that they don't expect a 4th edition for at least another 4 or 5 years, and I would bet on longer.

As for your suggestions, not going to happen. The D&D paladin will remain part of the game, no matter what we say. Of course, you could always pick up Green Ronin's Book of the Righteous for a Holy Warrior class that can be any good alignment (and the Unholy Warriors Handbook for their evil counterparts). And non-evil undead? Never going to happen. Not as part of the official D&D rules anyhow. If it bugs you that much, just change it. The Hasborg MIB's will not come to your house to make sure you're playing by their rules. At least, not so far as you know....
