I really don't know, but I feel the meaning of life was so that God could make us happy.

Wouldn't you want your life? I wouldn't really, but I would rather be not born than dead.

No offense to any other religions. This is my meaning of life.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Life is only what u make of it so the real meaning is to live life the best u can. yes mistakes will be made but that doesn't happen for no reason u will learn from these to better understand who u are and what u want to do... there may well be a so called "God" but to me god is what we call on when things don't go our way to give us comfort and hope for when things get better...

We are a MESSAGE-IN-A-BOTTLE.....that's what life is...We are carrying a message inside of us, a very deep message that most of us don't understand...U can pass it on by reaching the shore safely...How do U reach the shore? Well, by making a difference, by standing out. The easiest way, available to most of us is to have children, that will insure some kind of posterity.....Other ways are to swim against the current to not sit on the grey area of life, to express your opinions pass your knowledge to others, by being a teacher, a pastor, a person that speaks in public and also by leadership. You can start a war, you can help end a war; you can write a book, you can be an extremist, you can start your own religion worshiping lightbulbs and neons, you can break a record-of any kind........
There tons of things to do.....Actually, its harder to stay unnoticed and not leave, at least a small trace behind you after you die......After all, we're all a great big family........

What is the meaning of life?
Can this really be answered, there are so many answers, and you can't really say to 'live, because that is far to vague.

Life:

To love, give as well as receive to every person you come in contact with, let a person who looks as though they have no one in the world know that they have you.

To cry, when your friend cries, when the world cries, shed your tears too, but, don't cry too much, you have to have room to laugh.

Laugh, smile, embrace the world, even when it looks at you sneeringly, when it has turned it back on you, step in front of it.

Grieve for the death of a friend, but not to much, they have just went onto their next great adventure.

Have adventures, even when you are getting 'old', know that being old is not the end of the world, neither is dying, you just launch yourself, prepare yourself for your next advantage.

Really, life is what you make it.

There really IS a God. He created us for His own pleasure. He gives us 2 choices- to either live without a purpose or to serve God. The best choice is to serve and follow God- the One who created us and sent His Son to the Earth to die so we wouldn't have to. So the real meaning of life is to praise God. Give Him glory. Worship Him. Thank Him for every second we're alive.

We have a maker a being that designed the most incredible working mass of bone, blood and nerve and added a pump to keep it going and a brain to ask questions. God put us here for His pleasure and assigned us the task of being creators ourselves. We can make new human beings and love and nurture them and show them how to play baseball and build buildings and throw stones in the pond and on and on. We make our fun and we make our misery. We are in charge of our thinking, but in the end He calls us home. Enjoy life, give back to the environment, care for His creatures and read about God. All he really wants us to do is follow the 10 commandments. We make our own rules sometimes and they cause confusion and need and want that can't be fulfilled. Read and learn and you will be at peace with your longing and go to school and be anything, live, live, live. Blessings by the way come when you have pleased Him and if you doubt that, Ask, He listens.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -
