they were bug eyes. sort of accusing. Not nice by today's standards.

Yes , the reason why is that her irises where some 5% larger than everyone elses, this makes the eyes more striking. Medical mystery why this happens in approx 1 in 1,000,000

They were really large eyes, so I suppose they would have been the first thing anyone looked at when they saw her. Then again, the eyes are what most people focus on when looking at someone's face.

Yes, they were really cool and that was before all these fancy contacts, so they were her own eyes.
