What liberal media?

2007-01-24 10:52:48 · answer #1 · answered by karen 2 · 8 8

There is liberal media and there is conservative media. There is little media any more that calls things down the middle.

Teach your kids the difference between opinion and news, way too often these are confused.

One thing about Fox, they usually present both sides of the issue. Those who have this quick guttural reaction would prefer to just see one side of the story, their own.

Teach your kids to seek out multiple views and make up their own minds. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

Good question. I think it will be very difficult since academia is also extremely liberal. Most kids are liberal when they are young because of the liberal brainwashing in schools. But, when they get older and realize that survival in this world is not about a lot of emotionalism. The world works on conservative jprinciples and would fall apart under massive liberalism.
To answer your question I would say expose them to talk radio and Fox News. Although liberals are in the process of re-introducing the Fairness Doctrine. The purpose of doing this is to diminish talk radio. Talk radio is the conservative voice....liberals cant succeed in talk radio, the only liveral talk show on radio ,Air America ,was a joke and is now off the air.

Have them listen to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilley and ABC News and Faux News. What liberal media bias? Seriously, where is this liberal media? You mean ABC trying to say 9-11 was President Clinton's fault--and making up a load of lies? There is no liberal media. Air America qualifies, I guess. But thats IT. Your wonderful conservative media put Bush in office, congratulations on your wonderful war and the wonderful trillion dollar debt to Communist China which was run up so billionaires could get tax cuts. So might I politely suggest if you like conservatism so much you go down to the army recruiting station and sign up NOW and get over to Iraq and fight for what you believe in. Or do you have some excuse for hanging around here, spending your time insulting the people who tried to steer this country in a sane direction.

My friends from Europe and Latin America think that CNN is right-wing, biased, and too influenced by corporations, so I guess its just all a matter of perspective. Try reading some of the international news outlets and see if you still think our "liberal media" is really "liberal."

Read.

There are many biases within our community. In written text, the issues and views may be sorted through easily.

A good dose of psychology and a few hours of marketing theory, many students will be able to decipher the real message.

Of course then, why do we need to watch/listen to the media's Assembly-line theory? We need to teach our children to form their own ideas and convictions.

Well perhaps we can influence people by teaching them what those cue words are that taint the information. For instance, when I watch the news it seems as though titles are given to conservatives more than liberals. We should encourage people to think for themselves and maybe try to influence values, rather than parties. Hope I could help!

I only hope my children grow up to think for themselves and not form their views of the world becasue Bill O'rielly, Ted Koppel, Dan Rather, Al Franken, Tony Snow or anyone else tells them to think in a certain way. You teach your children what you think is right, and allow others the same luxury you wish to have.

If you do not approve of a news outlet's bias, I suggest you do not patronize them.

Our young people are not stupid. No one needs to warn them. They can look up who owns all media. The Media is Conservative bias. Think about it. Have you ever heard even once the word "occupation" in any news source?
We are in fact in occupation of Iraq.
