No.
Republicans here (and the President) love to say we're fighting the terrorists in Iraq so we don't have to fight them here. It has been established that Al Qeada was NOT involved in Iraq before our invasion.
How would you feel if someone decided to start a war in your country because they would rather lure the terrorist into your neighborhood, so they "wouldn't have to fight them on their own soil"? Not very good I presume.
Being released from under the thumb of a dictator is great, but to go from that to total unbridled chaos (admittedly, in certain areas more than others) and civil war because of the incompetence of the man put in charge to protect you, is not a great leap forward. Under Saddam there was a possiblity you would be killed one night. Under Maliki and Bush it has turned into a probability. It may not seem like much of a distinction, but to someone living through it, the distinction is huge.

This is just my opinion-please don't be rude or insult me....
I believe that the Irag people are initial grateful however I also believe the moment we train them and they are able to control their country. They will turn on the American People. This has happened before. I was like most American people when the war initially started, I wanted revenge for all the American people that died in 9/11.. To many solders are dying. The reality is, even if we stay or pull out, we will be looked at very badly for all the damage that has been done. Or for leaving a country that is in need of help. Either way the American People are now looked at badly. It is unfortunate because I do believe The American People do want what’s best for all countries. I don't believe sending more troops to Iraq will help. It is obvious the president is out of answers and the only thing he can resort to is more war, he will never admit any wrong doing. Just pray pray pray that those soldiers are kept safe. Most of them believe in what they are fighting for, and I commend them they are very brave men and women.
To answer the inital question since I got on my soap box, compassionate? No. The moment he sends his daughters into Iraq is the moment I believe he will become a compassionate man. I wish they would initiate the draft, I bet congress would try and pull them troops out of there so fn fast because then there son’s and daughter’s would risk doing to Iraq.

They think Bush is an @$$hole. If you watch the news you'll see a lot of Iraqi dudes burning American flags...I don't understand why they hate Bush. He's a stupid dumb president but he is helping the Iraqi people by getting rid of the insurgency in their country.

I think he's a jerk, and he's not even bombing me or my family. So that gives me a pretty good guess of what the people in Iraq think of President Bush.

Are you referring to the same Iraqi people who say they will "let us leave" if we give them money and arms? Their biggest concern is not Bush.

compassionate? who else thinks Bush is compassionate? I would suspect the people he's dropping bombs on don't think he's compassionate.
