You can start a healthy routine by rubbing your babies gums at bathtime with a soft washcloth. Gum care is just as important.

Before an infants, teeth cut through the gums his mouth should be wipe or rinsed. As soon as teeth are through the gums allow the child to suck, or chew on a wet wash cloth. Once, the bite reflex ( snapping mouth shut when something touches the jaw) has disappeared, begin brushing teeth. They sale small finger brushes at most pharmacies. Do not use tooth paste until after a child is a year old, and then only a very small amount.

As soon as you like,my daughter cut her 1st two teeth at 7 months but we didn't start to brush til a couple of months after when several more appeared, she had her first dental check-up at around 18months and everything was fine. The earlier you start the easier it will be to incorporate it into everyday routine.

we started using a finger toothbrush before she had teeth just to get her used to having her teeth brushed so that she wouldn't fight it. We now brush her teeth 2-3 per day...like any other person does. She's 19 months now. She thinks that it's fun. Make sure you use the toothpaste that's ok to swallow! Oral B makes a good one.

Do it before the teeth come through, gently brushing the gums, to get the baby used to the feel of it.

As soon as they grow through. My son is nearly 11 months old, and he walks into the bathroom while I am brushing my teeth and picks out his toothbrush and tries to brush his own. It is so sweet to watch. I bought a long handled brush from boots and their own smile baby toothpaste. It's strawberry flavour so it goes down very well!!

You should clean your baby's teeth as soon as they get them. You should even wipe there gums before they even get teeth. You can go to the store and buy infant toothpaste that don't have flouride in it. Or you can wet a washcloth and wipe them off

I'm a dental nurse and we advise parents to brush their kids teeth as soon as they come through. Use a small headed baby brush and only use baby toothpaste if you have fluoride in your water as there is very little or none in it. If you don't have fluoride in your water we advise that you use an adult toothpaste, a mild mint such as Colgate blue stripey gel or Crest.

My mum as always started just before they are coming through with a silicone toothbrush and gently rubbing the gums. She uses the silicone toothbrush until 1/4-1/2 are through.
