I'm looking to see if any one knows if I can download Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 reboot disk off the net. I beilive my PC system has crashed. I beilive its one file. It says follwing file is missing \windows\system32\config\system. SO I wanted to know is there a way to make a copy off the net. and down it onto a disk. Let me know..

Your in trouble, you could try system restore but if you use the repair console it will not let you copy a file into config/sys. I tried to fix mine using DOS but windows will not allow working in the config file.

i imagine you're gonna be hooped. I actually have XP professional with SP1 - with the intention to get to SP2 that is a obtain from Microsoft and in my case there become some thing incorrect with the disk(as I borrowed it) Microsoft talked about that and really stated "no, no, no - you should purchase your own" and refused me sp2. Take what you want from that.

Where's your disc you got when you bought xp ? Use it to reinstall windows xp again. Don't mess with system 32 that's your heart and sole of your operateing system's.If you have a legal copy you shouldnt have any problem.
