If i have a VERY large forest back there? (in Utah?)

There are no wolves that range that far south in the U.S., we have nearly wiped wolves off the face of the country. They are found further north and further northeast of Utah, but none in Utah or any of the surrounding states. They range up into Canada as well.

I live in northern Idaho, and we have wolves a short distance from our backyard. Wolves are not known to be in Utah, but its possible that they are moving down from Idaho. It's a good possibility if you live in northern Utah near the Wasatch Cache National Forest. There's been unconfirmed sightings in the Caribou National Forest on the Utah/Idaho boarder. Its very unlikey that wolves are much farther south than Logan or Ogden, but its not impossible. A wolf can travel 70 miles in a day.

Well, sort of. It is you who are living in their backyard. A wolf's territory may be several square miles, and what's more, may have been ''passed down'' from many wolf packs for generations. So show a little respect, and be careful at night!

As a pet, no. It is against the law. However there are wolf hybrids that are allowed depending on the laws of your state. I do not suggest this type of dog as a pet however unless you are a very active person and can bring it up with lots of attention.

Sure...sounds like a good source of food and shelter for a wolf....but if you think you have seen one, double check...could be a coyote, stray dog...etc.
