You should speak to your doctor, you can get information about hernias on a site called web md. My husband has had two of these surgeries and I researched them there. Is there a reason you are delaying the procedure or are you waiting for the appointment? Make sure you have someone to care for you after. The last time he had it done it was only day surgery. They rushed him out of the hospital before he was ready. Best wishes.

Get the surgery done as soon as possible. If it ruptures, you will be very sorry. Sepsis could set in... it's beyond gross, truly.
