should the tissue roll off the top or roll from the bottom?

As an expert with years of experience I assure you my answer is professional:
1. place the roll on the holder in a manner that permits the paper to hang down from the front. Check by looking at the right side of the roll when installed to make sure the roll unwinds in a counter clockwise manner. REASON: it is easier to control the flow of paper and easier to grasp the end of the roll.
2. when in place on the holder, gently squeeze the roll so that the inner tube forms an oval. REASON: if the roll is oval, it is easier to control the flow of paper compared to a perfectly round tube because the oval shape stops the paper as soon as you stop pulling.

I've always put it so that it rolls from the top. I think it's a personal opinion. And if you live in house with several people, should put put it to a vote, and the majority should win....P.S.--My husband gladly replaces the role AND puts the toilet seat down after using the bathroom. I guess his mom taught him well!

I put it over the top. I heard that women usually prefer it on top, and men usually tend to put it on the bottom, but who knows, I've never actually met a man who has ever bothered to put the toilet paper on the roll.

My vote has always been for over, but if you're not yet married or living with a significant other, it's definitely worth discussing as part of a prenup. Seriously, people often have very strong opinions about this and get craxed when it's done "wrong".

If there's a pattern on it, it goes over the top. Otherwise it don't matter.
