While you are driving or the car is parked? When you drive, only turn on your defrost at the beginning, then switch to "foot" for the heat. This will let your windshield cool down. The snow outside will bounce off rather then melting. No melt, no water, no ice. Also when you turn the car the windshield is still cold so snow will build up there rather then melting and forming ice. If the conditions are just such that ice is forming anyway, park your car in a garage or use a car cover.

Make sure you use a barrier product that does not contain water.
About 90% of 'de-icing' products to protect windscreens against frost contain water to allow the mixture to remain fluid.
I remember seeing a product on QVC that relied on a water-free gel based liquid. In the morning after a heavy frost, you use your squeegee blade to wipe the windscreen clean and then drive away.

I put some of that windsheild washer fluid that is good till -45. Its made with teflon (pink in color) put it into a spray bottle and soak my windsheild with it on nights when I know there will be an ice storm. That way the ice doesn't bond with the windsheild and it only takes one push to slide the whole ice chunk off in the morning. If you put it on when you get to work in the morning by the time you leave at night there is usually no ice at all.

On frosty evenings sprinkle salt on to a cloth and wipe the outside of the windscreen. That should prevent ice from forming.

Shout at it!
Oi! Ice! Get off my windscreen or I'll tell your Dad! I know where you live! etc
Alternatively, but a Ford with a heated front screen. Get in in the morning and press a button, two minutes later its clear.
