The Red Shoes

I also have a limited edition interview CD promoting The Hounds of Love and the Dreaming
Kate Bush influenced:
Kimm Ladd, Daphne Lawless, PJ Harvey, Coldplay, Futureheads, Dolores O'Riordan, Robert Smith, Tori Amos and Sarah McLachalan.
I guess the only thing that influenced her to play piano was that she didn't want to play violin and taught herself piano.
Real good bio here:

If you have any specific questions let me know.
Kate is the best I could listen to her 24/7.

Seriously? Okay, here is the off the top of my head stuff, then I'll give you a couple of links: She was born in 1958, in Great Britain. I think in England, near London. She was "discovered" by Pink Floyd in the mid 1970s. Her first album was "The Kick Inside", this would be about 1978. The single "Wuthering Heights" was a hit (at least in Britain where I was living at the time). Her photo was plastered all over buses in Britain and...that's all that comes to mind, so here are some links:

That'll do! Have fun, she really is fascinating!

Tori Amos has made a career out of ripping off Kate Bush.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. Other than that, the links everyone else has listed should be of real assistance.

Kate Bush is one of my favourite artists. I started listening to her music while I was at university in the "80's. Here are some links that should help. Her music is compelling and tells stories and are thought provoking. Listen to her music and you will be impressed. "Running up that hill" is a great song

I'm a big fan, but I know virtually nothing about her. You could go on her website which as a biography that you could look at and I'm sure there's a lot on Yahoo music about her past and her influences. Good luck!
