these are parts of a the poem where the sidewalk ends by shel silverstein

i have an assignment where i have to look at a poem and find poetic devices so plz tell me if these two lines are alliteration

Um no, it isn't an alliteration. An alliteration is use of the same consonant at the beginning of each stressed syllable in a line of verse; "around the rock the ragged rascal ran" the first line is kinda like an alliteration because it uses the letter "w" a lot. Hope this helps:)

the first part of the first line is definetly alliterationg. (usage of Ws in the biggining of words)
and i guess you can pull of the second line as alliteration( what where..white.)
