The answer is P= -2. Just distribute everything on both sides. Combine like terms. Then add/subtract or multiply/divide when necessary.
8(7-p)-8=-16(p-2)= ?

8(7 - p) - 8 = -16(p - 2)
Distribute the 8 and the -16 (watch your signs).
56 - 8p - 8 = -16p + 32
Collect like terms on the right side.
48 - 8p = -16p + 32
Add 16p to both sides.
48 + 8p = 32
Subtract 48 from both sides.
8p = -16
Divide both sides by 8
p = -2.

-8p=-16p-16
